This has been the top priority item on our roadmap for a while. We’re happy to announce the new matching engine. Our team has introduced a plethora of improvements to the full-text indexing of tweets as well as to the querying mechanisms.

The new engine is already live in all Magpie accounts and a few of you may have already noticed the new tooltip helper explaining the new query possibilities. From the helper:

Campaign keywords are tags which describe the audience you would like to address. They help us find appropriate Twitterers for you. Try to name keywords which your target group would usually talk about.

By default, all words must match for a Twitterer to be selected. You can refine your keywords by using AND, OR, NOT, double quotes, and brackets.

Examples:

  • design OR fashion OR style NOT webdesign
  • ( cell OR phone OR mobile ) AND battery
  • " michael jackson "

Personally, I am very excited about this improvement as it will allow our customers to target their campaigns even better, hopefully resulting in much higher click through rates and engagement.
