The simple answer to this is no. While Magpie utilizes the feeds of twitterers to convey your brand messages, you don't have to be a twitterer yourself.
Yes, many of our Magpie-twitterers also have business that they want to promote. You can also use your earnings from your Magpie-twitterer account if you want.
It is really easy to get started with Magpie. All you need to sign up is your email address and a credit card or PayPal account. Click here to get started.
You are able to run a campaign with Magpie for as little as $ 20.00. Magpie enables you to define how much you want to spend for: an entire campaign; per day; and even per keyword, placing the budgetary control entirely in your hands.
We handle payments though PayPal, making the process easy and secure. This way, we will never see your credit card details and you are in complete control of your spending. On your account page, simply decide how much you want to deposit and then click on the "Pay In" button. Magpie will automatically take you to PayPal where you can securely access your account. Once you have completed your transaction, PayPal will automatically divert you back to your account page at Magpie.
You don't have to have a PayPal account to deposit money. If you'd like to pay directly via credit card or your bank account (not available in all countries), tick the box "I don't have a PayPal account." before clicking on "Pay In". We will still take you to PayPal, but you will be able to enter your payment information (credit card, bank account details, etc.) directly without having or creating an account with PayPal. Please look for "Don't have a PayPal account? No problem, continue checkout." and click on the associated link.
It's really important to keep your message conversational. Twitter is not the forum for the 'hard sell.' Think about the sorts of conversations your potential customers would be having - how can you involve yourself in this? Also, be sure to add a link somewhere in your ad to help people find out more. Links in Magpie-tweet messages should contain a plain link starting with http://... Magpie cannot post messages which contain HTML links such as <a href=...
Magpie works on a prepaid system. This means that your Magpie account needs to have enough funds to cover your campaign. Should your funds run out before you hit your set campaign budget, then your campaign will be paused and you will be notified.
To pause a campaign you need to be logged into your Magpie advertiser dashboard. Simply click on the Dashboard tab. Within this tab you will see a list of all your campaigns. By clicking on the tick next to a campaign ad you can de-activate it. Don't worry, you can also re-activate the campaign by checking this box again.
While we will be sad to see you go, closing your Magpie account is really simple. All you need to do is navigate yourself to the Settings tab within your Magpie advertiser account. We'd appreciate you gave us a quick reason as to why, then hit the "Delete Account Forever" button and your account will be terminated.
